CER 23-24 Lead Artist Andrea Rodriguez presents La Rumba No Para, a salsa love story about growing up in San Francisco, La Misión. Self-directed and choreographed, this piece traverses through 24th Street in the Mission District, where a melding of family secrets, culture, Latinx music and dance are explored through the themes of love, loss, and addiction. This multidisciplinary dance production features a dance film, live performance, spoken word and virtual reality installation, with original music composed by Asdru Sierra (Ozomatli). La Rumba No Para will premiere at ODC Theater November 8-10, 2024 and is supported by Bridge Live Arts' Community Engagement Residency.
